The concept of data depth gives a foundation for multivariate data analysis. Roughly speaking depth measures how "centred" the points lie with respect to the point set. In this talk, I will give an overview of the definitions and some properties of examples of different depth measures in the literature. This includes questions like why were certain measures introduced, how robust are they to data-perturbation, and how and how fast can we compute the depth of query points.
